FormSmarts allows customers to dynamically route form responses to different email addresses and only receive an email when the data submitted through a form meets conditions you've set.

Choose Email Security Adapted to Your Needs

FormSmarts can deliver email with a different level of security for each of your forms depending on your application.

Standard Email

Currently, FormSmarts standard email delivery uses opportunistic Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt the connection with a form recipient's email provider when we send a message.

TLS encrypts the connection, not the message itself, and the connection is only encrypted if the form recipient's email provider supports TLS (most do).

For enhanced security, clients can choose to set up a form so its email recipients are required to sign in via a link in the email notification in order to view a form response.

Encrypted Email (S/MIME)

To protect the confidentiality of the data submitted, customers can choose to receive form responses by S/MIME secure encrypted email.

Email Technologies

FormSmarts has implemented several email technologies to ensure we deliver form responses to your inbox quickly and reliably.

SPF (Sender Policy Framework)

FormSmarts has published and maintains a strict SPF policy, so that email providers supporting SPF, like Gmail and many other mail hosts, can automatically verify that every form submission we send by email actually orginates from FormSmarts. This helps prevent spam and forged emails, and should ensure the proper and timely delivery of form submissions to your email account.

DKIM (Domain Key Identified Message)

Emails sent by FormSmarts carry a DKIM digital signature. Signing emails allows email providers supporting DKIM like Gmail and Yahoo to verify that emails are really sent by FormSmarts. This helps prevent spam and forged emails, and should ensure the proper and timely delivery of form responses to your inbox.

Get Form Responses as HTML or Plain Text Email

FormSmarts allows you to choose whether you want to receive form submissions in plain text or HTML format.

The default rich text or HTML email format works for most email workflows where someone in your organization must review each form submission individually.

Use the plain text email option if you need to integrate a form with legacy software that parses data from emails. To integrate a form with a new applications, use a webhook instead.

You can also use plain text email when both people and automated systems need to ‘read’ email messages.
