Hit the Reply button of your email app to reply to a form response
Provided your form has been configured correctly, you should be able to respond directly to the person who submitted a form.

Replying to a Form Entry

When you hit the Reply Button of your email app to respond to a form entry, the message should be sent to the person who submitted the form.

If you're receiving a bounce message from FormSmarts, that means your reply was sent back to FormSmarts' sending email instead of the person who submitted the form.

Please make sure:

  1. You are asking for an email address on the form.
  2. The Allowed Content (also known as Data Type) option of the email field is set to Email. You can edit the settings of an input field in the Field Details screen of the form builder.

Replying to a Form Entry That Was Forwarded to You

When you reply to a from submission that was forwarded to you, some email clients will send your reply back to the FormSmarts' “no-reply” sending email address.

To prevent this, always copy the email address in the form entry and paste in the To field of your email client when replying to a form entry that was forwarded to you.

Why are form entries forwarded to you?

If the workflow of your organization is such that one person receives all form submissions and forwards them to the relevant department, you should consider using FormSmarts' User-Selected Recipient feature so that form responses are sent directly to the right department/email address. User-Selected Recipient allows the person submitting a form to select to which department it should be sent in a list.
