Changes in Form Builder Payment Integration
The recent upgrade introduces some changes in FormSmarts Payment Integration (PayPal Form) feature.
- Chargeable items may now be placed in check boxes. This should prove valuable in situations where you’re building a form with one or several optional, individually priced items.
- Payment button instead of link. We’ve replaced the payment link on the confirmation page by a more outstanding button.
- Form ID now shown in PayPal report. Up to now, when you needed to reconcile a payment with the corresponding form submission, you could only rely on the FormSmarts Reference Number. This is the unique ID shown in the subject of emails containing form data and in Form to Excel reports. The same ID appears in the payment details in your Paypal account, and also in the CSV report you can generate. We’ve now added the Form ID (see screenshot) to the information available on PayPal, so you may quickly identify which form each payment is for.
We warmly welcome your feedback.

How long does it take for results to post and be available for export via the report generator? It has been just over an hour and I do not see the information in the FormSmarts report nor do I see it yet in PayPal. I do have a PayPal email stating that a payment was made… came within about 1 minute of transaction.
Eric, results post within a few seconds of the payment being confirmed and are available for export via the report generator immediately. I noticed that you’ve just created your FormSmarts account. Did you add your FormSmarts Notification URL to your PayPal account to complete PayPal integration, as requested by the form builder? If you didn’t PayPal won’t notify FormSmarts of payments and registrations won’t ever be confirmed pending payment receipt.
Yes, I have populated the Notification URL in PayPal exactly as directed. I am seeing something about Account emails need to be exactly the same…is that a possible issue if my account email on PayPal (primary) is different than the account email on FormSmarts?
Your FormSmarts login email must be the same as your primary PayPal email, otherwise integration won’t work. FormSmarts sends payments to the PayPal account matching your login email, so the payment associated with your test run was probably sent to a non-existent PayPal account under the email you use for FormSmarts. If so PayPal will hold the funds and eventually refund the payer if no-one claims the funds by associating that email with a PayPal account.
